Product & Order FAQs

We proudly raise Berkshire pork, pasture-raised chicken and turkey on our farm in Eastern Iowa, and work with trusted local partners to offer grass-fed beef and lamb. Every product we sell comes from farmers who share our commitment to ethical production and high-quality food.

Our pigs are raised in spacious deep bedded barns, outdoor lots, and on pasture, where they can express natural behaviors in low-stress environments. Our chickens and turkeys spend their lives on pasture with fresh air and sunshine, while our grass-fed beef and lamb come from partner farmers practicing rotational grazing.

We believe good animal care isn't a marketing slogan. It's the foundation for producing meat you can feel good about serving your family.

The best way to stay in the loop and hear about restocks first is to sign up for our newsletter!

We regularly restock our pastured chicken and pork products (with pork products restocking slightly more frequently).

Our Thanksgiving turkeys are offered seasonally, and are restocked once per year in mid-November. (Pre-order yours today!)

Grass-fed beef and pastured lamb are offered through a partnership with other local farms, which means we don't always have it in stock.

Our subscriptions are the easiest way to enjoy pasture-raised meats delivered right to your door. You can build your own subscription & select your own delivery cadence (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) by adding products to your cart and choosing to subscribe. Or, pick one of our curated subscription boxes to get a selection of cuts based on what’s freshest and in season.

No matter which option you choose, you aren't locked in – you can change your cuts, adjust frequency, pause for vacation, or cancel anytime. Available for both local delivery & shipping.

We offer options seasonally to buy half and whole shares of Berkshire pork, quarter, half, and whole shares of beef, and whole shares of pastured lamb. See our current bulk offerings.

How buying a share works

  • Reserve Your Share: You'll put down a deposit to reserve your share for our next processing date.
  • Processing & Cut Instructions: If you ordered pork, the butcher will contact you close to the processing date to complete your cut sheet. The cut sheet is where you can choose exactly how you want your pork processed. (If you'd like guidance, we’re happy to send our recommended cut list.)
  • Remaining Balance: You will receive an invoice from us for the remaining balance once the final hanging weight is confirmed at the processor. The remaining invoice balance is due at time of delivery. (For pork shares, you'll also need to pay processing fee directly to the butcher, which varies based on the options you selected in your cut sheet.)
  • Pickup or Delivery: When your share is ready, we will notify you and work with you to coordinate pickup or delivery (shipping available with an additional cost, depending on the share size). For pork shares, you will be notified directly by the butcher, and can also choose to pick up your meat directly from the locker.

Nope! You can order whatever amount fits the needs of your household. Sometimes that is a whole hog, and other times that is a small a la carte order. Either way, we're happy to help! Order in bulk, select a variety bundle or fill your cart with individual cuts of our pastured poultry, Berkshire pork, grass-fed beef, and more!

By adding a Protein for Pantries donation to your order, you can purchase high-quality meat that we will donate directly to the Delaware County Food Bank in Manchester, Iowa, or to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank on your behalf. Meat is one of the most requested and least donated items at food banks, and your contribution makes a real difference.

How it works is simple:

  • Choose the quantity you’d like to donate by adding the Protein for Pantries product to your cart and adjusting the quantity to your desired donation amount/volume.
  • We handle processing, packaging, and delivery to the food bank.
  • Families in our community receive wholesome, nutrient-dense protein.

You can also Venmo @overthemoonfarmandflowers and put "donation" in the notes section.
